M2M: Close the Death Chamber – Candlelight Vigil
People of all faiths have been calling on Governor Jerry Brown to Close the Death Chamber at San Quentin Prison and abolish the Death Penalty here in California. A small group from Katrina’s Dream, have been holding a monthly nationwide candlelight vigil, every first Monday since February 7, 2011. Starting at The Bridge in Ellsworth, Maine ending at the West Gate at San Quentin Prison, Marin County, California.

This is _________________________, and I am calling on behalf of Katrina’s Dream and its coalition partners. We are calling to request Senator / Assemblyman ___________________ to support SB490.
SB490 is sponsored by a Senator Loni Hancock and was amended June 27, 2011. This new legislation will be written as a statutory change to the law that will require both the Governor’s signature and approval by voters in a Legislature-sponsored initiative that would be put on the November 2012 ballot. Once voted into law it would abolish the Death Penalty.
We hope that Senator / Assemblyman ___________________ will give earnest consideration to supporting this critical legislation. Please call or e-mail me immediately at #__________________ E:________________ with your decision.
