The Call <\/strong>continues to grow around the world as women are emboldened and empowered to be fully included in the conversations as they address the many intersectional social justice issues that span the globe.<\/p>\r\n

Please join us on the first Wednesday of each month and help build the groundswell of women lifting their voices and pulling up a seat at The Table.\u00a0 This collaboration of activists, advocates, civil society, educators, lobbyists, professionals, state officials, theologians and clergy,\u00a0 is dedicated to promoting and educating folks across the United States of America to empower women around the world.<\/p>\r\n

The Call<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\r\n

The program is hosted by Helene, Sharon, and Tammy and from time to time has Guest Hosts.\u00a0 The program follows a loose agenda. Opening with a welcoming message, then a meditation, self-introductions, and occasional guest speakers followed with Q & A. Then reports are given by various organizations from across the county, and calls to action and events are announced.\u00a0 After the closing thoughts.\u00a0 The program flows into Salon Time where the conversation continues where together we will build friendships and networks, support wanderings, share wisdom, identify complexities, listen to frustrations, and celebrate successes.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/a>Helene de Boissiere-Swanson: Katrina’s Dream<\/strong> founded Katrina’s Dream along with her late husband William Gaines Swanson and her father-in-law the Rev. George Gaines Swanson and the Rev. Robert T. Coolidge following the night a hurricane bearing her mother-in-law’s name (Hurrican Katrina) hit New Orleans. That night was Women’s Equality Day, August 26, 2004.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

She dreams of a world where believers and non-believers alike dialogue through Love Co-existence and come together utilizing the African way of Ubuntu to address issues as they arise that affect humanity and the planet.<\/p>\r\n

Sharon J. Hill: Public Eye Reports<\/strong> is an advocate and community leader serving with local and national organizations, Hill has facilitated program development, capacity building, organized for effective impact, and guided digital media imprinting, for effective global outreach. Hill’s strategic planning and critical thought crisis management acumen guiding community relations for over 20 organizations, effectively maximizing their exposure from Kosovo to Haiti, from New York to Mississippi Hill, has been featured as a panellist on community and citizenship, voter and issues-based forums at The Carter Center and coordinated forums.<\/p>\r\n

A thirty-year Cobb resident, evangelist Hill, and her family are members of historic Zion Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia, where she serves as Deaconess and Chair of the Evangelistic Outreach Ministry. Hill facilitates Missionary Assistance with her husband for Zion’s\u00a0 Benevolence Outreach. Married to her high school sweetheart, Calvin A. Hill, Sr., for 37 years, is the mother of six and grandmother of six.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"<\/a>Tammy Simkins: ERA Action <\/strong>A native and lifelong resident of Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of devoted teenage parents who instilled in her the attributes which led to her devotion to the cause. Her activist spirit came from her mom who taught her from an early age to stand up for human rights and trained her to take part in the governmental process. Her dad ingrained in her the principle of family devotion with the belief that once a parent, one’s primary role is to protect their children. Tammy and her late husband Tom have three daughters, a grandson, and two granddaughters. It is for their future, and the future of all Americans, she works to ensure the E.R.A. becomes the 28 Amendment.<\/p>\r\n

Tammy became an advocate for the ratification of the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment (E.R.A.) in 2012 and has worked for ratification through the 3 State Strategy ever since. She graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in Political Science and Gender Issues and an Undergraduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies in 2013\u00a0 (she earned an Associate of Arts with a Humanities emphasis in 2011) and was presented with the Ohio University-Chillicothe Heritage Day Award for her work on the E.R.A. the same year. She co-authored and coordinated the successful “We The People” 2013 E.R.A. White House Petition<\/a> which officially put the Obama Administration on the record as a supporter of the E.R.A. and brought grassroots E.R.A. advocates together–especially through social media.<\/p>\r\n
