Swanson felt called to write a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katrinasdream.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Governor-Jindal-070410.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal<\/a> addressing the <span style=\"font-size: 1.6rem; line-height: 1.5;\">Deepwater Horizon oil spill\u00a0and Hurricane Katrina&#8217;s<\/span> aftermath.<\/p>\n<p>That August, a fisherman from Houma, Louisiana, reached out, initiating a connection with the DeHart family. After a Sunday service and coffee hour at Christ Church Sausalito, William and his wife Helene presented a PowerPoint outlining their concept for addressing poverty, inspiring many parishioners to offer support.
