\nHanukkah has<\/span><\/p>\n

come once again<\/p>\n

And the Children of<\/p>\n

Israel<\/p>\n

know it as sorrow<\/p>\n

An ancient people, we<\/p>\n

remember<\/p>\n

The many times of<\/p>\n

darkness<\/p>\n

And the candles as<\/p>\n

we wait<\/p>\n

For a better day, a<\/p>\n

better dawn<\/p>\n

Long ago, we were a<\/p>\n

people under siege<\/p>\n

Forbidden our religion<\/p>\n

And yet we believed<\/p>\n

in the promise of<\/p>\n

tomorrow<\/p>\n

We believed GD<\/p>\n

would not casually<\/p>\n

forget us<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t in that dark<\/p>\n

temple of yesteryear<\/p>\n

When we lit the<\/p>\n

first of candles<\/p>\n

Today, as then, we<\/p>\n

were surrounded by<\/p>\n

People who wouldn\u2019t<\/p>\n

let us be<\/p>\n

We withstood our test<\/p>\n

then<\/p>\n

And we will do so<\/p>\n

again<\/p>\n

It is what we hold to \u2014<\/p>\n

our GD and tomorrow<\/p>\n

For we know even in<\/p>\n

the dark<\/p>\n

Life can be sweet<\/p>\n

Our GD, unseen, is with us<\/p>\n

We are not forgotten<\/p>\n

We have been<\/p>\n

separated from the<\/p>\n

land<\/p>\n

And cast adrift and<\/p>\n

yet we believe<\/p>\n

And know we<\/p>\n

continue<\/p>\n

through darkness<\/p>\n

Into the light of better days<\/p>\n

We will not forget the GD<\/p>\n

that gives us fire<\/p>\n

He knows our tears,<\/p>\n

our fears and our<\/p>\n

joys<\/p>\n

To live is the greatest<\/p>\n

gift we were given<\/p>\n

When others did deny<\/p>\n

us happiness<\/p>\n

We still ate and<\/p>\n

danced and sang<\/p>\n

Because we knew our GD was with us<\/p>\n

Saying hold on<\/p>\n

through this night<\/p>\n

We are not forgotten<\/p>\n

We will keep the faith<\/p>\n

and wait<\/p>\n

We will dance and<\/p>\n

laugh and sing<\/p>\n

Remember the many<\/p>\n

travails we survived<\/p>\n

And the joy when the day was won<\/p>\n

Do not fear for we are<\/p>\n

not forgotten<\/p>\n

We will light the<\/p>\n

candles<\/p>\n

And we will wait, ever<\/p>\n

faithful<\/p>\n

Knowing we have<\/p>\n

survived worst days<\/p>\n

Life is very sweet<\/p>\n

Our GD, unseen, is<\/p>\n

with us and we are<\/p>\n
