Following William Swanson\u2019s untimely death in 2013, Katrina\u2019s Dream, which he co-founded, is re-envisioning its prison reform initiatives, including the \u201cClose the Death Chamber\u201d vigils, to continue addressing injustices faced by the incarcerated. William\u2019s philosophy of justice and compassion remains central to the organization\u2019s mission. A notable vigil on February 3, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. outside San Quentin\u2019s West Gate called on Governor Brown and California legislators to abolish the death penalty, uniting people of all faiths in this cause.<\/p>\n
Katrina\u2019s Dream continues to rally support, urging Californians to oppose the death penalty and participate in shared events and prayers.<\/p>\n
