ATLANTA, GA,\u00c2\u00a0<\/u>JULY 1, 2017 -\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Katrina\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Dream, ERA Action and a roster of national leaders and advocates from across the United States will gather, Friday, August 25 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 27, 2017 in Washington, DC,\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0in the fashion of Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Equality Day founder, the late Congresswoman Bella Abzug; insisting on hearings for the current Equal Rights Amendment, ERA of just 24 words, which comprises the Joint Resolutions, SJR 5 and HJR 53, to remove the deadline for ratification. The 2017 Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Equality Day rally in\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>DC follows the Equal Rights Amen<\/span>dment, ERA ratification led\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>by Nevada State Sen<\/span>ator Patricia Spearman March, 22, 2017.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>The Third Annu<\/span>al Rally continues with the call of a<\/span>dvocacy that begins with a day of action on Capitol Hill from<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church, 1525 Newton Street, NW, Washington, DC.<\/span><\/div>\n

Rally organizer, Helene Swanson, cites the exciting addition to the Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Equality Day of action,<\/i>\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153this year we are expanding our event to include \u00e2\u20ac\u015324 WORDS\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for two performances, an equal rights musical featuring 20 original songs inspired by the equal rights movement from 1775, when women were almost equal, pot was almost\u00c2\u00a0legal and\u00c2\u00a0contraceptives could be sold to\u00c2\u00a0unmarried people, to\u00c2\u00a0March 22, 1972, when the Equal Rights Amendment passed the Congress.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/i>\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/span><\/i><\/div>\n

The invitation is for all women to join the day of advocacy,\u00c2\u00a0August 25 – 26, 2017<\/span><\/span>, whether in DC or with your local state legislators. Add your voice as two days of dialogue, panels, musical, interfaith vigil, walk and rally, is forged from the church to the Capitol Halls, to the National Mall. Women standing for Equal Rights is the clarion call of herstory, for history\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sake. The time is now for action and the 2017 Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Equality Day is the time to act on those 24 works that is the reality, Equal Means Equal.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>Charles Kouri, author and producer of the same-titled 24WORDS including lyrics with music, in classic consciousness for a movement lost in time charges,\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/i>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I would ask any man who believes women are not equal or should not be equal to tell a woman they care about – their mother, daughter, wife, sister \u00e2\u20ac\u201c \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You are not equal.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d If you can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t tell someone you love they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not equal then it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s easier to see that systems of inequality \u00e2\u20ac\u201c and every reason for inequality \u00e2\u20ac\u201c is wrong.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
