All of which I brought to the attention of Amazon\u2019s CEO, Mr. Jassy, in my September 2024 letter, in an effort to identify problems in which solutions are in place.\u00a0 All Amazon has to do is simply come to the table and sign the contract. Thus, I believe that the Executive HR Investigator should be obliged to provide their full name or at the very least provide me with an identification number or something to that effect.\u00a0 Kayla refused to provide me with these details, placing me in an awkward position. Is an Amazon HR Investigator truly impartial, if they work for Amazon, or are they inherently biassed? After all, they are part of the extensive network of Amazon\u2019s Human Resources Division. Human Resources (HR) is the strategic and coherent approach to the effective and efficient management of people in a company to promote their business gain as a competitive advantage.\u00a0 HR\u2019s primary focus by design is to maximise employee performance in service of an employer&#8217;s strategic objectives.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HR also concerns itself with balancing organisational practices with requirements arising from collective bargaining and implementation of labour and governmental laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, on the other hand to be objective, it is an understandable concern for Kayla. I am not the only person who is having issues with safety and health, and being subjected to retaliation and harassment, sexism and racism. This is a big company, a huge one, Amazon employs millions of people worldwide and is ever growing in all sectors of Information Technology , from Artificial Intelligence to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/amazon-google-project-nimbus-israel-idf\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iron Dome in Israel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with very little industry regulation. Bezos hired the best talent to exploit every conceivable aspect, from their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ilsr.org\/articles\/amazon-rest-us-welcome-post-office\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sweet deals with the US Post Office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which affect <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2024-06-10\/dear-usps-this-marin-county-town-wants-its-post-office-back\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">communities from Bolinas, California<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Stamford. Connecticut, as well as the numerous state and federal subsidies and incentives for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/meet-the-immigrants-who-took-on-amazon\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hiring immigrants and a wide swatch of others in vulnerable communities <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">across the United States.\u00a0 While claiming there is a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/articles\/immigration-election-economy-amazon-big-tech-423af9aa\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">labour pool shortage in order to\u00a0 exploit immigrants<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the process barely offering them but a few pennies above minimum wage and prepping for job elimination as automation their focus. Amazon subcontractor\u2019s are underpaid as well, from the contracted janitorial services to security, providing a corporate veil.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know I am painting a bleak picture but it\u2019s we are going to pull through this. The adage<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> darkest before the dawn<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> applies and while we are moving forward the USA, we must keep in mind that we are a post-colonial slave-based economy which turned into the Prison Industrial Complex of the world&#8217;s most powerful military. And it\u2019s governance potentially porting over to corporate global dominance. There have been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stanford_prison_experiment\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">studies over the years <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where one group is given power over another, oppression is what follows. This warehouse management style based on penology.\u00a0 The retaliation when is reinforced by design I have witnessed break good hearted people in the Operations end of Amazon\u2019s warehouse management. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God Bless them!<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is what drove me to seek the help of the Teamster. To exemplify the tone of \u201cleadership\u201d at SNY5, recently I queried further about our warehouse participation in the Amazon nationwide program \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geekwire.com\/2023\/amazon-tests-letting-warehouse-workers-listen-to-music-and-other-audio-via-bluetooth-earplugs\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Listen While You Work<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, and the Area Manager cautioned me in their retort \u201c&#8230;we can always stop playing the music if folks keep complaining\u2026\u201d. So I really do get Kayla\u2019s apprehension and aggressive stance.\u00a0 We have all grown leary or workplace violence and retaliation. So it is reasonable under these conditions that Amazon will continue to have a lot of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workerscompensation.com\/daily-headlines\/amazon-employee-stabbed-by-coworker\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workplace violence<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. And I for one will continue to champion my co-workers here in Melville, New York, and the USA, and worldwide.\u00a0 I am union proud.\u00a0 I am Teamster\u2019s Amazon &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katrinasdream.org\/dreamscape\/a-more-perfect-union\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SNY5 Unite<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, I also take issue with not being allowed to record my HR Ethics interview. I use memo recordings for note taking purposes.\u00a0 It is difficult to keep track of all that is covered in a conversation\u00a0 Many corporations record customer service phone calls.\u00a0 How could recording the investigation be harmful?\u00a0 And in the age of a Big Brother watching everyone and a prison management mentality please make note that Amazon is recording our interactions while storing inventory and these recordings are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/amazons-just-walk-out-actually-1-000-people-in-india-2024-4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reviewed off site in India<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 These same recordings have been used to terminate warehouse workers. So why bar a complaint from recording the interaction with the investigators to ensure that everything is on the up and up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make note as of this writing J also from Amazon, the HR CI Division, reached out to me regarding an allegation made against me. It appears a complaint was filed for union organising on September 22, 2024, for discussing a petition I am circulating. J found the complaint was not valid.\u00a0 Reasons were not provided why he made that determination. However J did provide me with a telephone number, his email and his full name, stating that was policy. I walked him through the ever growing concerns at SNY5.\u00a0 Such as lack of security at the Delivery Drivers entrance area which in the past led to theft of inventory and an warehouse worker being assaulted by an irate driver who punched her in the face, to the amnesty bins where leaking household chemicals, torn potting soil and fertilisers bags, and damaged batteries are left for days unattended, and warehouse associates work with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/radiofrequency-and-microwave-radiation\/standards\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">broken Zebra RF scanners<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Hard to fathom that I have been making these complaints for well over one year now.\u00a0 But there you go.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proceeding to \u201cconnecting the dots\u201d. \u00a0 J<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ohn F. Kennedy has been said to have been partial to the Confucius\u2019 quote <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMay you live in interesting times.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If I was a conspiracist I would say I got stuck in a sad, sad, twisted story from<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spytalk.co\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Jeff Stein\u2019s Spytalk <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on Substack or Hunger Games. But it\u2019s not, it is rather simple.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our history is colourful and checked, and we are well on our way in the 21st century.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That looks scary to some folk.\u00a0 We are debunking false claims, getting healthier, living longer lives, and exploring Quantum Physics, as we prepare for life off earth.\u00a0 In fact, some groups have taken as far as crafting an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/scholarlycommons.law.case.edu\/jolti\/vol14\/iss1\/5\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interplanetary Constitution <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for off-planet living. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, while all these advances are being made by leaps and bounds, other parties in key positions are exploiting the very groups they claim to champion. So<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> these are interesting times indeed.\u00a0 And what a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">whackazoid<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I must be for tying all these factors together. But there you go.\u00a0 I have shared these thoughts in one on one conversations with close family and friends,\u00a0 the temporary suspended program, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katrinasdream.org\/dreamscape\/1st-21st-century-church\/lets-pass-the-era-3\/advocacy-legislative-packet\/the-call\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Call,<\/a>\u00a0 co-hosts Tammy Simkins, of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Sharon J. Hill, of Powder Springs Georgia, as well in small groups and online chats on Facebook and WhatsApp.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So how do all these come together?\u00a0 Let\u2019s start with this Presidential Election and the Equal Rights Amendment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I will lightly cover my dismay in our nation\u2019s\u00a0 2024 Presidential Election. Initially<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alarming was how quickly supporters from both sides became vile, delighting in bashing their candidates&#8217; political rival.\u00a0 Making satirical memes, justifying their bullying of family members, friends, and followers. When I posted my dismay on the messaging, I was bullied online by a few folk, one a woman priest, who then promptly unfriended me. Then polls claim the Biden &#8211; Harris Campaign was leading the charge.\u00a0 Then Joe Biden\u2019s debate debacle, a complete failure by his team, and the television show producers &#8211; &#8211;\u00a0 horrible lighting, terrible miking, and his on screen make-up, this was prime time TV, asleep at the wheel puts it mildly. And George Stephanopoulos subsequent \u201chit\u201d job, and Biden pleading with him. Then George Clooney leading the Hollywood Pack to withhold monies until Joe stepped down, only served to demonstrate the importance of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TfQij4aQq1k\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Citizens United and the problem with our political system<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Cause when the money dried up, Joe caved.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> became disenchanted and undecided. Kamala Harris has not said one word about the Equal Rights Amendment this round, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=J1OvDB_wavI\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kamala challenged Joe in 2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; &#8211; instead she focuses on piecemeal solutions that ultimately complicate and fail women.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And Donald Trump is playing that same tune &#8211; crickets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have heard more than my fair share about the Abortion Dilemma, the failed economy and wars in the Middle East and Russian borders, both sides playing into fear. As Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, \u201c<em>There is nothing to fear but fear itself<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 The Abortion Dilemma is an easy fix.\u00a0 Yeah, that\u2019s right, All that has to take place is in the next Congressional legislative session (2025-2027) for both chambers to vote \u201cYea!\u201d when removing the deadline on the ERA come to the floor for a vote. It will also greatly improve the economy.\u00a0 Women are vastly underpaid by their opposite sex co-workers across the nation.\u00a0 When women earn more, the more they spend. Ever watch the show \u201cSex and the City\u201d.\u00a0 So it&#8217;s Easy Peasy.\u00a0 Removing the deadline ensures the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment into the US Constitution and the ERA guarantees equal access to healthcare, equal pay, and a lot, lot more.\u00a0 And healthcare is between a person and their doctor.\u00a0 The government has no place in making my healthcare decision.\u00a0 The kind of protection women need is protection from a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/doctors-are-preoccupied-with-threats-of-criminal-charges-in-states-with-abortion-bans-putting-patients-lives-at-risk-240524\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">government that is interfering in their relationship with their healthcare provider.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So how does this epic failure of our Congress and the Executive Branch tie into the potentiality of World War III? And do we really have something to fear?\u00a0 I\u2019ll get to that in Part III.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the Information Age.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone, everywhere\u2026 things are changing. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have an iwatch which operates like a 1940\u2019s Dick Tracy detective gear, I have earbuds that translate instantaneously\u00a0 like those I watched on Star Trek as a child in the 1960\u2019s, and we have cars that run on electricity like the Jetsons.
