Indian Spirit and American Will

On August 22, 2012, Rev. Magda Kamble of the Garrison Church at Camp Deolali, India, reached out to Katrina’s Dream, inviting William and Helene Swanson to visit her struggling congregation. That December, their visit and discussions with the Bishop of Nasik led to the inception of Katrina’s Dream – India, with William delivering a heartfelt sermon on Indian family values at the Christmas Eve Night Watch Service.

In February 2014, Helene returned to India, receiving blessings from Bishop Pradip L. Kamble for her advocacy for women’s rights, presenting “Indian Spirit and American Will” to the Diocese of Nasik clergy before embarking on her 10,000-kilometer U.S. pilgrimage for the Equal Rights Amendment. After completing her pilgrimage, Helene launched Katrina’s Dream – India and was honored on December 4, 2015, by the Diocese of Nasik for her work in promoting women’s rights globally.presentation Indian Spirit and American Will

Today, Helene continues  organizing a women’s empowerment summit aligned with the Beijing Declaration’s critical areas, including women’s health, education, and human rights, promising a transformative impact.
