Think Tank Thuto, founded by Annelize Bester in 2005, is an international education committee dedicated to defining quality 21st-century education for Africa through The Anglican International Schools of Botswana, Africa (TAISBA). The initiative envisions a sustainable, eco-friendly Anglican boarding school in Mathangwane, Botswana, serving children from diverse economic, religious, and national backgrounds. Collaborating with partners like ARUP, it develops an integrated eco-village master plan balancing economy, society, culture, and the environment.
William G. Swanson supported this vision by presenting information on Bester’s behalf at the 76th General Convention of the Episcopal Church in Anaheim, California, in 2009, following a 2008 dinner with Bishop Musonda Trevor Mwamba at the Lambeth Conference. Additionally, Bester exhibited her materials at the Katrina’s Dream booth during the 77th General Convention, Indianapolis, Indiana, furthering the initiative’s outreach.
Rooted in the Setswana word “Thuto,” meaning “education” or “learning,” the program aligns with Katrina’s Dream’s mission of social justice and global education advocacy. on behalf of Think Tank Thuto a long-term vision and dream of that will benefit Africa¦
