Walk the Talk: A Quest for Equality

The “Walk the Talk” ministry, spearheaded by Helene de Boissiere-Swanson’s 10,000-kilometer pilgrimage across the United States in 2014 to advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), directly contributed to three additional states—Nevada, Illinois, and Virginia—ratifying the ERA, paving the way for efforts to retroactively remove its ratification deadline. Chronicled in the book Walk the Talk: A Quest for Equality, the campaign reflects Rev. Katrina Swanson’s legacy as a pioneering Episcopal priest committed to action-driven faith and social justice. Helene’s journey engaged communities nationwide, sparking dialogue and advocacy for gender equality, while the book captures her spiritual and political reflections, embodying Katrina’s Dream’s mission to foster equity through impactful action and storytelling.
